Black Hojary (Boswellia sacra) is dark in color and the fragrance has a fruitier component with balsamic and Oud notes that isn't present in other Hojary Frankincense types. The fragrance, look & feel of all types of frankincense are determined by the type of tree, the region where it grows and most importantly, the climate and weather. The Black Hojary trees grow nearer to the coast where there is more rain & moisture that help create the darker look. This black Frankincense burns very nice with bukhour adding an extra depth of scent.
